Radio spectrum and position of two solar spike burst sources
Abstract
A comparison is made between simultaneous observations of a pair of spike bursts during the July 19, 1971 solar noise storm, as carried out with a 151-187 MHz dynamic spectrograph and a 169-MHz radiometer at the Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism near Moscow and with a 159-179 MHz multichannel spectrograph and a 169-MHz radio heliograph at Nancay. The broadening of the noise storm source indicates that the spike sources are about 2 arcmin in diameter. They might originate from breakup of type I radio burst sources.
