Pyro-spectroscopic technique for high resolution IR absorption data with an optically pumped FIR laser
Abstract
The pyroelectric response of a type II TGS detector at 1188 μm is related to its FIR absorption in two perpendicular characteristic directions. We have found good agreement between the pyroelectric and classical spectrospic methods for the absorption ratio in these two directions. A so-called 'pyro-spectroscopic' method could be derived from our observation, for FIR absorption measurement of pyroelectric crystals.
