Waveguide resonators with a phase-conjugate mirror
Abstract
A waveguide resonator in which one of the mirrors has been replaced by a phase-conjugate mirror is considered. By using an effective finite mirror size, it is shown that such a resonator is capable of transverse-mode discrimination while providing low coupling loss for the fundamental waveguide mode. It appears that compactness and good beam quality can be achieved simultaneously in a phase-conjugate waveguide resonator.
