Čerenkov radiation by a flat disc charge
Abstract
The Čerenkov radiation of an extended charge of the disc shape is computed. It is shown that the total emission rate is smaller than for a point charge. However, the emission rate of N electrons placed on the disc can exceed the incoherent Čerenkov emission of uncorrelated N electrons.
