A new approach to the Yang-Mills theory and quark ``confinement'' in 2+1 D theory
Abstract
Some gauge-invariant parameters of the Yang-Mills fields are introduced globally. The space of the gauge-invariant parameters is a cartesian product of all homogeneous compact spaces M x ( x is a point in x-space). It is shown that under such approach to the 2+1 dimensional Yang-Mills theory quark "confinement" appears to be obvious. This phenomenon is accounted for by "compactness" of the parameter space and the fact that in 2+1 dimensions the coupling constant squared has dimension of inverse length.
