Injection gas electronics
Abstract
Data on high-pressure pulsed volume discharges sustained by electron beams are examined, and the application of such discharges in systems of injection electronics (e.g., gas lasers, and avalanche and spark switches) is considered. Attention is given to the ionization of gases by fast electrons, and to the contraction and energy characteristics of volume discharges. Particular emphasis is placed on CO2 lasers and rare-gas halogenide lasers.
