Distributed line analysis for microstrip antennas
Abstract
Research carried out on extending the bandwidth of a printed-circuit microstrip antenna in the 225-to-400-MHz band is surveyed. The circuit properties of microstrip antennas are explored using distributed network analysis rather than the field-theory analysis most widely reported. The analysis suggests that the coupling of signals from the basic parallel-plate radiator to a series of half-wave auxiliary strips could overcome the bandwidth limitation.
