Meteorite Pilistvere.
Abstract
The mineralogical and structural features of the Pilistvere meteorite, one of two enstatite chondrites in the USSR, were studied on the basis of microscopic and X-ray analyses. The microhardness of a number of minerals was determined. The features of the composition and structure of the chondrite are found to be determined by the highly reductive conditions of formation and the subsequent high-temperature agglomeration of material. The meteorite underwent shock metamorphism in the postaccumulation period.
