Semiconductor synchronized oscillators and autodynes
Abstract
The work examines aspects of the analysis and synthesis of synchronized microwave oscillators and autodynes based on various types of semiconductor devices (e.g., tunnel diodes, avalanche diodes, BARITT diodes, and Gunn diodes). Analytic methods are used in the investigation as well as the state-variables method. Particular consideration is given to free and synchronized oscillations in self-oscillatory systems; the formation of the power frequency-response curve of a reflection-type synchronized oscillator; the formation of the phase frequency-response curve of a synchronized oscillator and the analysis of its sensitivity to parameter variations; the effect of weak reflected signals on an autodyne; the fluctuation characteristics of autodynes; and the effect of intense reflected signals on an autodyne.
