Phase locked loops
Abstract
The theory and applications of phase locked loops (PLLs) are described. Particular consideration is given to a qualitative-numerical method for the analysis of three-dimensional nonlinear PLLs; the analysis of continuous PLLs using two-dimensional comparison systems; the use of cumulant analysis to analyze PLLs; PLLs using complex PSK signals; the stability analysis of PLLs with complex signals; and models of discrete PLLs. Also considered are Markov models of digital PLLs; a quasi-continuous method for the analysis of digital PLLs; optimal PLLs; the application of digital PLLs for signal processing on a noise background; and discriminators in PLLs for the processing of complex signals.
