A numerical analysis of the diffraction of radio waves
Abstract
Numerical methods for the analysis of the diffraction of electromagnetic waves by ideally conducting open surfaces are presented whereby the diffraction problem is reduced to rigorous Fredholm integral equations of the first kind. An analysis is presented of the mathematical models for various cylindrical mirror antennas, including a corner antenna and a parabolic-cylinder antenna. The structure of an electromagnetic field emitted by a cylindrical antenna is investigated for different distances from the reflector.
