Heat and mass transfer apparatuses in cryogenics
Abstract
Problems involved in the analysis and design of the basic types of heat and mass transfer apparatuses for cryogenic applications are reviewed on the basis of the latest experimental and theoretical research in this field. Data are presented on the thermophysical properties of gaseous and liquid refrigerants; the designs of recuperative and regenerative heat exchangers are discussed, as are the methods used for the hydraulic and structural analysis of the exchangers. Rectification of binary mixtures and the design of fractionating columns are also examined.
