On the construction of adaptive algorithms for unsteady problems of gas dynamics in arbitrary coordinate systems
Abstract
Nonuniform grids, including moving grids in which the node position is time-dependent, are increasingly used for solving problems in fluid mechanics with the aid of difference schemes. The use of explicit difference schemes with nonuniform grids for solving evolution problems is hindered by the stability conditions that require an extremely small time step in the case of nodal concentration in domains with large gradients. Conditions for the construction of moving nonuniform grids allowing large time steps are formulated.
