An approximate calculation of laminar boundary layer flow of an incompressible fluid
Abstract
A numerical model for computing general two-dimensional solutions for the inverse problem of laminar boundary layer is presented. The technique is a variation on the method of moments, and involves transformation of the moment equations obtained for boundary layers. It is assumed that the fluid is incompressible and the flow is steady. The method is applied to derive solutions for a boundary layer with a specified thickness and for the case of a decelerated flow, where the flow pattern is shown to correspond to a model of a separation bubble.
