The antenna module of the broadcasting satellite TV-SAT
Abstract
The antenna module of TV-SAT is presented with a description of performance requirements and technical concepts. The module consists of a 2.9 m high antenna tower support structure of carbon fiber reinforced plastics, a 12-GHz WARC-compliant transmitter offset reflector antenna, a 17/18 GHz receiver offset reflector antenna with a 0.7 deg beamwidth, and an antenna pointing mechanism for fine pointing of the transmitting and receiving antennas in addition to the S-band telemetry and telecommand antenna. Variations of the field patterns are presented with increasing amounts of disturbance variables, and are compared with an undisturbed field pattern.
