The resistance of a plate with a simultaneous and unequal injection and suction of mass
Abstract
The results of an investigation of friction on surfaces where there is a simultaneous, and unequal, injection and removal (suction) of mass in the turbulent boundary layer of a gas are presented. A permeable, smooth surface is considered on which a uniform injection and removal of mass are effected through sequentially arranged, infinitely small segments. For obtaining the friction law governing this type of surface, use is made of the limiting integral derived by Kutateladze and Leont'ev (1972).
