On the superposition of inductive and capacitive coupling in crosstalk-prediction models
Abstract
An examination of traditional low-frequency crosstalk-prediction models is presented. From the exact solution of the transmission-line equations for a 3-conductor line, it is shown that superimposing crosstalk contributions due to mutual inductance and mutual capacitance between the two circuits is valid for a sufficiently small frequency. The widely held notion that one may superimpose the effects of both mutual and self elements (inductance and capacitance) is shown to be incorrect.
