Capacity allocation in a DAMA satellite system
Abstract
Results are presented from the analysis and design of a circuit-switched demand assignment multiple access system in which the blocking probability of every user group is calculated in a recursive form. Systems of large size may therefore be analyzed, and the optimal design of the access strategy obtained. Numerical examples are given for both the analysis and the optimization algorithm. It is found that a partial sharing strategy is optimal, rather than a complete sharing policy, especially in those cases where user groups are not balanced with respect to traffic and capacity.
