A band-switched resonant quadrifilar helix
Abstract
The multiple tuning of a resonant quadrifilar helix is accomplished by an easily implemented technique which does not significantly change the basic performance of the antenna and can be extended to give 'N' band performance. The antenna is constructed by wrapping 1.0-in wide copper tape around a fiber glass cylinder to form the helix arms, each pair of which is fed with a semirigid 0.141-in diameter cable.
