Full-wave analysis of microstrip resonator and open-circuit end effect
Abstract
A further approach is made to the study of a rectangular resonator lying on a substrate in a shielded, covered box. With a careful choice of basis functions to represent the current in the strip, and using Galerkin's method and the finite Fourier transform, the frequency is calculated to an accuracy of 0.2% or better, and from this, the end effect at the open end of a microstrip discontinuity is calculated. Comparison is made with earlier work.
