Determination of the transformation parameters of spatial rectangular coordinates
Abstract
Methods for determining the transformation parameters of spatial rectangular coordinates (elements of an orthogonal transformation matrix) are examined. The conditions under which the various methods are applicable are indicated, and a general-purpose complex method is proposed which is said to be more convenient than the others in that it makes it possible to determine matrix elements from the solution of homogeneous equations. The present results may be pertinent to space geodesy and analytic photogrammetry.
