Correlation analysis of variations of interplanetary scintillation indices.
Abstract
Autocorrelation functions are presented for interplanetary-scintillation indices obtained from two-month series of observations of a large number of scintillating radio sources. Functions of cross correlation between the scintillation index m and the Ap index are examined. The coefficient of correlation between variations of m and Ap reaches 0.75-0.8; Ap experiences a time lag of approximately 1 day in relation to m.
