The effect of the method of plane charge initiation on shock wave formation inside a tube
Abstract
The parameters of flow inside a 0.6-m diameter shock tube have been calculated for three different methods of disk charge initiation. It is shown that perturbation of flow parameters at the tube wall is two-three times less than the maximum possible perturbation across the shock tube cross section. The spacing of contact transducers which would enable the detection of flow inhomogeneities is determined. Results are verified experimentally.
