The dispersion characteristics of generators of diffraction radiation in the millimeter-wavelength range
Abstract
It is noted that for wavelengths in the millimeter range, sources of electromagnetic radiation must have high short-term and long-term frequency stability and low levels of internal amplitude and frequency noise. These requirements are met by diffraction radiation generators (DRG), and experimental results obtained with these generators are presented here. The dispersion characteristics are presented of general-purpose generators during combination tuning over practically the entire millimeter-wavelength range. Two operating modes are considered: the DRG mode and the BWT mode.
