Energy transfer and lasing in phosphate glasses activated with chromium, ytterbium, and erbium
Abstract
The spectral and kinetic characteristics of Cr(3+) ions and energy transfer from chromium to ytterbium in phosphate glasses are discussed. The discussion is illustrated with the results of the comparative testing of the energy parameters of double-activated (Yb + Er) and triple-activated (Cr + Yt + Er) phosphate glasses in lasing mode with optical pumping.
