A self-similar blast wave with strong luminescence
Abstract
Analysis is carried out for the case of a self-similar adiabatic shock wave such as may result from the expansion of a laser plasma heated to high temperature in a gas with a density of 10 to the 15th 10 to the 16th per cu cm. With such densities, the radiation path is of the order of 10 cm, which is shown to be much greater than the size of the radiation region.
