Modeling of the effects of negative generation of temperature pulsation intensity in a turbulent mixing layer
Abstract
A turbulent mixing layer is examined which is generated at the edge of a slightly heated plane jet issuing into a flooded space on one end and into a uniform flow, whose velocity is equal to that of the jet, on the other end. The turbulent transfer is modeled by a system of equations which are integrated numerically using a simple finite difference scheme. The obtained distributions of the average temperature and temperature pulsation intensity in the shear layer are presented in a graphic form.
