An operational description for static converters - Application to rectifier circuits
Abstract
The advantage of dissociating the analytical and functional analyses of a static converter is explored, stressing all the possible evolutionary states of the converters for a particular configuration. The GRAFCET computer code has been modified for the chronology and the transition conditions of the functional phases. Examples are presented for commutation and the GRAFCET results for, e.g., a diode and a thyristor, rectification of alternating current, and for a commutator for thyristors and a cathode. The analysis is intended for numerical simulation of complex electric systems through decomposition of the system elements into subensembles.
