Change of the orbital inclination of satellite 1974-70A.
Abstract
The decrease of the orbital inclination of the satellite 1974-70 A shows some peculiarities which cannot be explained by the usual disturbing effects - odd zonal harmonics, lunisolar perturbations and the rotation of the atmosphere. To explain this, a lift force normal to the orbital plane is suggested since the shape of the satellite resembles a flat plate moving with a certain slope to the velocity vector. The theory of the effect is developed and its use in case of diffuse reflection with changing accommodation coefficient shows good agreement with the observed data.
