Radiant performance studies of discharge excited XeF laser
Abstract
This paper reports the dependence of the radiant performance of a UV-preionized XeF laser on the various parameters. Using Ne as the buffer gas, the output energy is increased by approximately 30%. At 2.5 atm an output energy of 250 mJ is obtained and the total efficiency exceeds 1%. Based on calculations of the Boltzmann transport equation, discharge transfer processes in He-Xe and Ne-Xe systems are discussed.
