A qualitative investigation of the motion of asteroids of the Hecuba type
Abstract
The Delaunay-Hill averaging scheme is applied to the plane, circular, restricted three-body problem with 2:1 commensurability of mean motions. A qualitative investigation is made for the case when the first four terms are retained in the perturbation function. Five types of phase trajectories are found. The stability of singular solutions is analyzed.
