HF communication network signals using channel evaluation data
Abstract
The performance of convolutionally coded M-ary frequency shift keyed (FSK) signals in the presence of worst case partial band noise jamming is evaluated. A large number of cases are considered including: (1) several alphabet sizes; (2) many values of diversity; (3) several coding schemes; (4) both hard and soft decision receivers; (5) jammer state known or unknown (i.e., in the former case the receiver knows whether or not each received symbol has been jammed); and (6) non-fading and Rayleigh fading channels.
