Means available at the CNES for measuring thermo-optical characteristics
Abstract
The analytic principles of measurement techniques currently in use for the evaluation of spacecraft operating temperature, are reviewed. The absolute measure of total hemispheric emissivity, the relative measure of infrared emissivity at ambient temperature, and the absolute measure of solar reflectance are covered. Respective measuring instruments are mentioned, and attainable accuracies are given.
