NASDA's 15 year plan for tracking and data acquisition
Abstract
A description is provided of plans of the National Space Development Agency (NASDA) of Japan for the next 15 years. Mission models are considered, taking into account the establishment of a station in South America for satellite telemetry and control applications, the utilization of U.S. Tracking and Data Relay Satellites, and aspects of international cooperation with respect to satellite tracking. Studies reported are related to a bus satellite, a Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS), a lunar orbiter for surveying the surface of the moon, and problems concerning unmanned rendezvous and docking.
