ISRO satellite mission support facilities - Scope and future plans
Abstract
It is the objective of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to provide communication and education to widely dispersed rural communities in India, and to survey and manage the country's natural resources with the aid of satellite technology. India maintains also a modest scientific research program which employs satellite missions. A brief overview is provided of the Indian space program, giving attention to the network's current capabilities for satellite data acquisition, tracking activities, and data dissemination. A description is given of plans for the coming decade.
