Principal results on the ballistic-navigational support for flights of the Salyut 6-Soyuz-Progress orbital complex during its four principal missions

The objectives of ballistic-navigational support for the Salyut 6-Soyuz-Progress complex are discussed along with the main technical resources for the implementation of this support. In order to illustrate the increasing complexity of navigation for manned spacecraft, ballistic flight schemes are presented for Vostok, Soyuz, Salyut 4, 5-Soyuz, and Salyut 6-Soyuz-Progress. Results on ballistic-navigational support for the four principal missions of the latter complex are presented.
