A numerical test of the Sift algorithm
Abstract
The evaluation of ocean wave spectra from SAR signal data investigated. The different approaches, conventional processing, SIFT algorithm, and the similar autocorrelation method are discussed and tested on a one dimensional example with simulated raw data. Motion effects of the ocean waves are neglected. The main advantage of the algorithm is that it is separable with respect to wavenumber, and spectral values can therefore be calculated using only a few chosen components.
