The ICAM 'Manufacturing Cost/Design Guide' /MC/DG/ for Avionics

General and specific ground rules, which include specifications of electronic discrete parts, materials, assemblies, and manufacturing methods, are described. An overview is given of the aerospace electronic design processes, indicating the way in which the MC/DG will be used to conduct trade studies at the conceptual design phase, as well as the detailed design phases for the circuitry and the chassis. The numerous trade studies and data requirements to achieve affordable performance in avionic systems are surveyed. It is noted that these data must be presented to designers so that the cost-trade studies can be conducted with schedule limitations.
