Calculation and analysis of rectangular corrugated horn patterns
Abstract
Radiation patterns of rectangular corrugated microwave horn antennas were calculated and analyzed. Horns were constructed. The theoretical basis for calculating patterns of these antennas is outlined. Easily usable design curves are presented, e.g., a nomogram to determine the gain and a diagram to choose the required corrugation depth. Measured radiation patterns were compared with calculated ones. The problems connected with optimization of the voltage standing wave ratio are discussed. Possible applications of these corrugated horns are shown.
