Cycling of transuranic radionuclides in the Columbia River, its estuary and the northeast Pacific Ocean
Abstract
Progress is reported in research dealing with the behavior of transuranic and other radionucleotides in the Columbia River. Efforts were made to finalize the analyses of Columbia River cores for transuranic and other radionucleotides, as well as to complete the analyses of offshore cores. Mass spectrometry data for Pu isolated from Columbia River sediments were also acquired. Analyses were also completed of cores from anoxic basins to test the theory of anionic complexone remobilization of transuranic radionucleotides.
