The practical tradeoff among bandwidth efficiency, modulation schemes, availability, and cost in satellite communication system design considerations
Abstract
An attempt is made to combine such practical parameters as bandwidth availability and cost with the use of cheaper power and innovative modulation scheme choices, for the consideration of bandwidth utilization efficiency in satellite communications system earth station design. Because the present state of orbit-spectrum use is so complex, the scope of the present study is narrowed to the highly simplified case of a single satellite.
