A cost effective TDMA terminal for Intelsat/Eutelsat applications
Abstract
An account is given of the development history of the Intelsat TDMA terminal, illustrating the evolution of TDMA equipment into bus-structured microprocessor systems whose architecture enhances interface flexibility while permitting lower manufacturing costs and power dissipation. The buses are fully redundant and totally isolated from each other. Bus architecture has also been extended to the control and alarm information bus, while attention is given to system tradeoffs.
