On the numerical solution of some types of unsteady incompressible viscous flow
Abstract
This paper is devoted to the study of a new class of accurate compact discretization techniques for the Navier Stokes equations in their vorticity-stream function formulation both in inner problems (driven cavity, free convection in a rectangular enclosure) and outer problems (cylinder and airfoil). Mehrstellen methods are detailed with or without built-in upwinding which allows mesh Reynolds number restrictions to be avoided.
