The impact of the new communication services on data processing with conventional distribution
Abstract
Data processing systems located in various areas and connected with each other by communication systems are considered. Data and programs are exchanged between the systems, and the processing operations in the various individual systems are coupled with each other to a certain extent. Decentralized data processing is a special case of the considered 'distributed data processing'. In this case, the communication between the processing operations is zero and the degree of coupling is zero. It is shown that the new communication services make it possible to achieve the necessary standardization of the architecture of the connected systems.
