Satellite integrated communications network
Abstract
The technical approaches required for implementing a satellite integrated communication network are considered. Problems regarding the transmission of data between ground and satellite are discussed. Frequencies used for this transmission are in the frequency bands from 4 to 6 GHz, from 12 to 14 GHz, and from 20 to 30 GHz. Attention is also given to aspects of transmission power, the use of transponders, and the design of antennas. Multiplexing procedures are discussed along with questions of space channel allocation and economic considerations.
