A complex space-time ray method and 'quasi-photons'
Abstract
Formal asymptotic solutions of the wave equation are obtained in the form of concentrated wave packets which move along rays. The method used is a temporal generalization of the spatial complex ray method. Analogous to the complex technique of Maslov (1977), the method is based on complex solutions of the Hamilton-Jacobi equation.
