Spectroscopic properties of Nd-laser materials
Abstract
Recent results of a spectroscopic investigation of Nd(3+) ions in rare earth pentaphosphate host crystals are summarized. Results using hydrostatic pressure measurements show that energy migration and trapping occurs in NdP5O14 crystals. Four-wave mixing measurements demonstrate that the exciton diffusion length in this material is of the order of 0.36 micron.
