An intelligent pressure transducer
Abstract
A microprocessor can be used to achieve a + or - 0.1% accuracy pressure transducer by determining a continuous single-valued characteristic equation F(P, T) over a pressure range of interest for a silicon pressure sensor. Using software as a compensation technique, the undesirable aspects of nonlinearity, null shift, and span shift per pressure can be reduced. Additional capabilities which can be easily added to the intelligent pressure transducer are auto-zero techniques and self-check and range change via two-way communication through the universal asynchronous receiver transmitter.
