Description of a 3-port ATE system required for testing of electro-optical UUT's
Abstract
A three-port ATE suitable for testing E-O UUT's with less set-up and calibration time is described. The ATE contains fiberoptic, infrared, and laser ports, as well as interface elements for E-O testing at the I-level, including mechanical and optical interfaces, servoelectronics, video processing, environmental and special devices interfaces, and electronics. The details of the ports and interfaces are given. The main frame contains a common core, special core, and electronics; the subelements of these are stated. The methods for calibration and alignment with ports are summarized. Additional features are discussed, including the multiplexed mode, the control of ports, and the cross-sharing of ports.
