Automatic testing of Constant Speed Drives

The Constant Speed Drive Automatic Test System (CSD-ATS) which includes six dual test stands is presented. A central process controller is also discussed, in terms of test capabilities and operator interface, consisting of primary and secondary processor units. Fourteen CSD test programs are included in the CSD-ATS, each of which is composed of identification, calibration, and final test procedures. Automatic operation, precise frequency measurement, and automatic safety shutdown are among parameters which contribute to improved operational efficiency. Diagnosis time of the system has been reduced to four hours (from 20 hours), and a cleaner and safer working environment has been developed. Finally, overall facility effectiveness has increased by 5%.
